Prior to actual retirement
I’ve had to
go through
my own personal effects
to clean out my cubicle at work
I have found this task
although necessary
to be daunting
to say the least
and not at all
what I expected
it to be
The feelings
are difficult to describe
and to sort out
I have been describing
the feelings to friends
as being like
a near death experience
or at least
as close to one
as can be had
without actually
being at death’s door
